Something’s gone bump in the archives! Blood Hunger characters Lucia vs Iliana.

It’s the fifth anniversary of Blood Hunger this year, so I thought I ‘d reflect and look to the future a little. Sometimes the way forward, is sometimes the way back. I had the privilege of meeting both Steve Crisp and Les Edwards who have produced some of the best, paintings, book cover and film concept work in the world and pick up some pointers.

Here’s a collection of the latest and some previous promotional material for the top ranking Kindles scifi The Final Version, vampire horror Blood Hunger and zombie chiller Dead Pulse. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some great models and makeup artists over the years including J. Nash and German painter C. Schreck, Welsh photographer Catrin Arwel and Juliland. IMG_0896

So that’s it for this year. Thank you all for following my blog, reading my film comments  (they are not  reviews, everyone has their own taste like women/men, wine and music) and reading my news. To-date this blog has had 49,997 hits.
Next year the 2nd Editions of my top 40 ebooks Blood Hunger (#13 unlucky for some) and Dead Pulse (#39) will be released.
It’s been a great year for my scifi The Final Version, with it reaching #12 in the Cyber Punk ebook chart.
The music video I directed (packed with scifi references, see how many you can spot) has had 3,550 views to date, be warned it gets a little bloody towards the end -check it out here:
Thank you all for following my blog, reading my books and watching my videos – I really appreciate it. Be safe, have a fantastic seasonal time and have a very merry Christmas.

In time for my favorite time of year, early I know but we’ve already put the Halloween decorations up in my home!

The rights to both vampire thriller Blood Hunger and zombie chiller Dead Pulse have reverted back to myself. After this Halloween the novels will become unavailable.

They possibly may be resurrected in second editions depending on publishers. While the first editions satisfy, in retrospect their not as polished from an editing standpoint as I would have wished but no use crying over spilt milk. Still they’re entertaining horror travel reads. Even the industry’s big players are feeling the pinch and its difficult for the most seasoned authors to earn a crust so I’m not holding my breath for the novels to be picked up.

All is not lost in a shallow grave my sci-fi novel The Final Version is being well received. Again thank you for reading, thank you for your support and have fantastic Halloween.

Juggling both my writing and filmmaking is not easy. When Darkest Moons goes to print will end my sub-genre horror books. My zombie, vampires and Werewolf and their subtle connecting thread will be complete for readers to enjoy. But who really cares? I wonder who reads these posts, I wonder who reads my books. Many people know the writer but not the work – it’s an odd situation.

I don’t intend on revisiting sub-horrors, although I have received some tantalising offers. I’m pleased with the interest and success of both Blood Hunger and Dead Pulse and I hope that Darkest Moons will have the same reception.

So what is next?

Thinking… Filming for me has a whole different set of challenges and gives different types of reward. Revamped was a little gem, Terminus has had a great reaction amongst the art house fans with its style and themes.

Darkest Moons –Taylor’s Plight pre-pro involved with creature effects and some basic funding is taking longer than expected. Despite having a lead actress cast, script and much of the pre-pro done if things don’t move forward it may be shelved. Which will be a shame. Its hard doing it on your own, especially in this climate it takes a lot of energy and time. You do meet people that offer their assistance but you also meet many that are all talk. You all encounter people with the best intentions in the world but for one reason or another cant commit. Unless you’re big budget it’s hard. A lot indie filmmakers just want to make their story, I need someone who is keen want to make my stories but their with vision. For me story is paramount, while I have vivid ideas of how something can look or can be made I’m not
overprotective of the source material (that’s the producer in me) so long as the story’s essence remains.

So I’ll await the release of Darkest Moons. Then I’ll be free to weigh up the options, more ghost writing, completion of my sci-fi novel, continue the series, film Taylor’s Plight, resurrect my development hell film Riverside Hotel to name a few or just procrastinate, my, my I hate that word along with viral and visceral.

Whatever you’re doing believe in yourself and just keep plugging. Please leave a comment or like my page because in cyberspace no one can hear you scream it can be a lonely thankless place.

My best A. M.
